The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of MUP on crime and disorder, public safety and public nuisance in Scotland.
The study will consider a number of data sources (for example, Police Scotland data, Scottish Crime and Justice Survey data) and also use a ‘synthetic control’, and apply appropriate analyses to detect any changes since the introduction of MUP. The practical, as well as statistical significance of any changes will be reported.
This study will be published in late 2021. You can download the protocol for this study.
