NHS Health Scotland welcomes the publication of the Scottish Government’s Health and Social Care Delivery Plan. The plan sets out a range of actions and commitments to strengthen the health and social care system and improve the health of the nation over the coming years. The announcement includes plans to strengthen national leadership for sustained protection and improvement of the health of the people of Scotland. The plans will also involve developing a set of national public health priorities for Scotland.

Commenting on the announcement, Gerry McLaughlin, NHS Health Scotland Chief Executive, said

“NHS Health Scotland fully supports the Scottish Government’s commitment to the transformation of public health leadership and delivery in Scotland. The plan includes a number of significant commitments with the potential to make a real impact on improving population health and reducing health inequalities. We look forward to working with the Scottish Government, and other key partners in implementing the public health elements of the delivery plan in the months and years ahead.”
