The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of MUP on crime and disorder, public safety and public nuisance in Scotland.

The study will consider a number of data sources (for example, Police Scotland data and Greater Manchester Police data) and use appropriate analyses, including a ‘synthetic control’, to detect any changes since the introduction of MUP. The practical, as well as statistical significance of any changes will be reported.
