Building foundations for health and housing (regional events)
Good housing is essential for the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and our communities across Scotland.
Event description
Housing is a complex social determinant of health and the contribution that housing can make to health and wellbeing goes far beyond bricks and mortar, focusing on much more than just the walls within which we live.
These events were part of a series of regional events which brought together colleagues from across health and housing sectors to: build on our understanding of housing as a pre-requisite for health and wellbeing; increase awareness of the local context for health and housing; share learning and examples of practice; and, explore opportunities for collaboration between public health and housing colleagues to maximise the contribution housing can make to improving health and tackling health inequalities.
Events are took place in Aberdeen (25 September), Edinburgh (2 October) and Kilmarnock (25 October).
