  • What is the impact of the introduction of MUP on alcohol-attributable deaths in Scotland?
  • To what extent does any impact of the introduction of MUP on alcohol attributable hospital admissions and deaths vary by sex, age group and socioeconomic deprivation?

Study description

Using routine administrative time-series data, we will use a natural experimental design to assess the impact of MUP on hospital admissions and deaths caused wholly or partially by alcohol in Scotland.

We plan to use data for England as the primary geographical control group. Data for subnational English regions may be used in supplementary analyses.
