Housing has a direct impact on health outcomes and health inequalities.
The ScotPHN Foundations for wellbeing report (external site) recommended that there should be public health input by health professionals to key strategic local authority housing documents. This is to maximise the contribution these plan and strategy documents can make to good health and reducing health inequalities.
We encourage health professionals to get involved with these local authority housing plans and strategies.
Our 'Housing strategies briefing paper' outlines the relevant housing strategies and plans that local authorities produce. It highlights the opportunities for public health professionals to engage with local authorities about these plans and strategies.
On this page you can search by local authority for their published

If you would like to speak to a local authority about their housing plans and strategies, but their website or documents do not include contact details, Scotland’s Housing Network (external site) may be able to help. Email Scotland’s Housing Network to ask for details at firstname.lastname@example.org.
